Occurring at Clayton Library as part of a residency at Clayton Community Centre, The Books By My Bed is an interactive and collaborative community art project.
Each bedside table can be thought of as a portrait of a community member, showcasing a stack of their favourite books and other objects kept by their bedside. This project continues the residency's theme of overlapping generic public spaces with personal and intimate ones. The recommended books are available for library patrons to borrow. New book portraits are added each week.
