Teen takeover
Occurring as part of a residency at Clayton Community Centre, Teen Takeover is a pop-up art installation in the community centre lobby created by Clayton youth, inviting participants to temporarily transform the space.
This collaborative project questions and subverts who gets to make choices about the use and aesthetics of public spaces. It is also an opportunity for youth to feel a sense of empowerment and belonging within the community center by working together to creatively take over the lobby. Teen Takeover is part of an ongoing series of community collaborations at Clayton exploring how we can feel at home in public spaces through creativity, representation, and collaboration.
