Would you like to send a message to someone with a FREE CAKE delivered right to their door? From breakups, to confessions, to annoyance, sometimes it’s hard to say things out loud, so say it with a cake! You are invited to participate in Secret Ingredients, a new theatre project by artist Keely O’Brien.

How does it work?

Fill out the  cake request form linked below, detailing the message you’d like to send to someone via cake. I will creatively interpret your message, create a bespoke cake and  (if you wish), deliver the cake to the person that the message is intended for. I am anticipating receiving more cake requests than I can bake, but every submission is appreciated and will receive a thank you gift.

More information about this project: Secret Ingredients is a theatre project that uses cake to explore the intricacies of human relationships. In order to develop the show, artist Keely O’Brien is collecting cake requests and stories from participants. These will get woven together, along with Keely’s own personal stories, to make a performance that provides an intimate window into the quirks, nuances, joy and heartache of human connection and real relationships. Currently in development through Theatre Replacement’s COLLIDER residency, the project will culminate in process presentation and cake tasting inspired by the cakes and the stories behind them at HOLD ON LET GO performance festival in January 2024. Secret Ingredients takes a playful and intentionally inefficient approach to the challenges of honest communication. Keely O’Brien is an interdisciplinary artist that often uses found materials, interviews, personal stories and biography in making new experimental and participatory works.
